Kody West | Rifle High School Class of 2020

HUGE shoutout to the Rifle High School Class of 2020 as they celebrate their graduation this Saturday with a Motorcade Processional through downtown Rifle. Times are certainly unique and unfortunate for Seniors but we will celebrate them the best way we can.

Among those Seniors walking (or rather, driving) this weekend is Kody West. Kody has missed singing and putting together music with RHS’s Varsity and Men’s Choirs the most during quarantine. He’s been done with school for a while now and was really looking forward to hanging with friends and making music for the last couple of months. Sorry, Kody! Kody plans to attend CMU in the fall and is looking forward to the adventures ahead!

Congrats, Kody! GO BEARS!

Hayley Wood | Coal Ridge Class of 2020

Congratulations to all of the Coal Ridge Class of 2020 Graduates!

Another high school graduation is upon us and it’s pretty safe to say that this is one we will all remember for the rest of our lives. One day, the children will be discussing the year 2020 in their history classes. It’s been a wild ride for these Seniors and I can only wish them all the best on their new journeys.

Hayley is a Coal Ridge High School Senior who has already received her diploma. She didn’t get to attend a formal graduation ceremony with all of her peers, family and friends. Instead, she walked quietly alone across a stage receiving school admin handshakes and her parents in the background secretly shedding tears. She turned to the empty gymnasium, flipped her tassel and smiled into the video camera. Hayley will officially graduate this Sunday, May 17th at 1:00pm via a video that will be streamed to the public through the Coal Ridge Facebook page.

Miss Hayley expressed to me that the hardest part of the past few quarantine months has been not being able to hang and talk with her friends at school every day. She has really missed the social interaction more than anything. She’s kept busy at home with online distance learning and baking. She loves to bake! Hayley is looking forward to the fall when she will attend CSU for Music Education, another love she is very passionate about.

Good luck to you, Hayley!! I wish you all the best in your new journey after all the craziness!

xoxo,

Carrie

Central High School Class of 2017 | Reilly

They are graduating faster than I can produce the blog posts!  I couldn't forget Miss Reilly who walked with Central High School's Class of 2017 yesterday morning!  I've said it before but I'll say it again, I am so lucky to get to work with such a great group of Seniors year after year.  Reilly has really been one of my favorites this season because she is such a hard worker and an inspiration to her peers.  She has already turned her tassel and tossed her cap in the air and this fall she is headed to Colorado Mesa University to study Psychology.  She is excited for her college adventures but she is going to miss her friends and the nights spent in the student section at the volleyball and basketball games!  She even admits that she will miss the teachers that she grew close to during her 4 years of high school.  Awwwww, Reilly girl, you are such a sweetheart!  I can't wait to see and hear about all the fun you are going to have at CMU!

Congratulations!!

Central High School | Briana

I'm not sure if she tossed that beautifully decorated hat into the air but this girl graduated earlier today from Central High School!  Briana is so amazing!  Seriously, I can't think of a better word to describe her!  I have gotten to know Briana over the past year as a member of my model team and she is so sweet I wish I could keep her around forever!  She has worked so hard to get where she's going and this fall she is headed to the University of Colorado Boulder to study Chemical Engineering.  She earned a plethora of scholarships to help her fulfill her dreams including the University of Colorado Boulder Outstanding Student Award, the Grand Valley Power Scholarship and the CMU Distinguished scholars award... just to name a few.

When I asked Briana if there was anything I should share with the world on her behalf, she wanted to send a HUGE thank you to her parents for supporting her throughout the years and helping her to become the person she is today!  She even thanked ME, oh my gosh what a doll she is!  Thanks Briana!!  You are the greatest!!

I wish you all the best and I can't wait to follow your journey!

Palisade High School | Destinee

The Class of 2017 from Palisade High School will walk across the stage one last time today and among those turning their tassels is the lovely Destinee.  Destinee has been an awesome member of my street team throughout her senior year and I have really enjoyed getting to know her!  Later this fall she will attend Regis University in Denver, CO to study chemistry and she even received an annual scholarship to do so!

Way to go, girl!  I am so excited for where life's journey will take you and I have no doubts that you will be incredibly successful!!

Congratulations, Destinee!

Class of 2017 Street Team | Now is your time to shine!

Class of 2017 Street Team

Let's get this party started!

I am jumping the gun a bit earlier this year because I'm just too excited to get to work with my next group of high school seniors!  I am also adding quite a few new and exciting features to the CJP Street Team program which I will need the extra time for.  This next season is going to be even more EPIC than years past!

So, the time has come!  I am looking for high school JUNIORS who want to be a part of something exciting and different!  I am looking for YOU!  I NEED YOU on my STREET TEAM!

What does it take to be a Street Team member?  It requires YOU being YOU and sharing your experience with your friends.  Am I asking you to be a salesman for me?  Heck NO!  There are a few easy things you need to do from time to time, but they all come with benefits and rewards and the best part....dun, dun, dun....you can do it all from your phone!  So worth it!

Your Senior year should be an experience.  Being a part of the #cjpstreetteam is an experience that you won't forget!

So let's be awesomesauce, together!

Austin | Grand Junction Senior Photographer | Fruita Monument High School

Meet Austin, a Senior at Fruita Monument High School and a 2015 Graduate.  I had a blast taking Austin's senior portraits as he is a charming, bright and definitely handsome young man!  Curious to know why Austin chose to use a pistol as a prop for some of his images?  Well here's the story...  Austin has been competitively shooting handguns for about 5 years.  The action shooting sport he competes in is called IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association).  Austin found his passion with handguns and has climbed his way up to the master classification and recently took third place at the national championships competing against ALL ADULTS!  He has also recently picked up a sponsorship from Wilson Combat, the best custom 1911 pistol model manufacturer on the planet.  Austin is planning to attend college locally at CMU but if he happens to land a scholarship for shooting at Texas A&M, then he would love to venture south for his degree.

To learn more about the IDPA or Wilson Combat, please visit these links.

Congratulations Austin!
