Kahli, Tom and Baby Carson's Maternity Session | Grand Junction Maternity Photographer

This post is a tad overdue considering that baby Carson has already made his appearance but I couldn't pass up sharing these gorgeous images of my dear friend.  Kahli, (aka Kat) is one of the most beautiful pregnant women I have seen in a while and she is absolutely glowing!  Tom and Kat faced many trials and tribulations in their lengthy journey to conceive  but they were able to put their faith in the hands of God and let him lead the way to creating their miracle baby.  Early October is when we took these photos and Carson made his arrival shortly after in early November.  Another blog post will follow soon showcasing his birth Story and newborn session.  For now, please enjoy some beautiful imagery!

I am so tickled that I got to photograph this adorable family once again.  The first time there was three and now there's four!  Miss Kynlie and Miss Kylie are such sweet little girls and I am so excited to watch them grow up!

Hunter + Lauren | Engagements | Grand Junction Colorado

A few months back Lauren contacted me to set up a fall couples session for her and her boyfriend, Hunter.  We discussed details and scheduled the date.  A few weeks after I get an email from Hunter explaining that he was planning to propose to Lauren during our photo session.  I was so excited!  I asked Hunter if he had a plan in mind and he told me no, that he planned to do it when it felt right.  I warned him to just give me some sort of a sign so that I was paying close attention.  I certainly didn't want to miss this!  Things couldn't haven't turned out more perfect!

It was right before the next photo that Hunter proposed to Lauren on this very bridge!  Rather than capture a bunch of photos that could easily be recreated, I decided to give them a better gift.  I captured the entire proposal on video!  They had no idea until I told them, I'm really sneaky like that.  Now they have a much more valuable keepsake that they can share with family and friends.

Congratulations Hunter and Lauren!  I am so very happy for you and I can't wait until the wedding!

Benjamin's Birth Story | St Mary's Hospital | Grand Junction Colorado

Benjamin Gabriel Adams arrived on October 26th, 2013 weighing in at 7 lbs 6.3 oz and 20 inches long.  What a beautiful experience this was for both me and this amazing family.  I have really found a new love and purpose for my photography.  Lavinia (Ben's Mother) and I kept in close contact for the past few weeks knowing that Ben could make his appearance at any given moment.  We had a game plan and she would call me when she was in route to the hospital and then keep me posted as the doctors checked in on her so that I wouldn't have to spend lots of down time waiting around at the hospital.  I got the first call on Friday the 25th around 11 am saying they were at the hospital and induction had commenced.  Lavinia sent me several texts throughout the day and the next phone call I received was around 6 am the next morning.  I was too excited so I jumped out of bed and flew to the hospital.  I snapped away for a good two hours before we decided that things were pretty much at a stand still.  I went on home to wait for the next call which was right about 11:10 saying that Baby's head was sitting right on the cusp and he was itching to make his debut!  Again I rushed to the hospital and not even 30 min later little Ben was born!  Check out his birth story below!  There is a special surprise in the video that I encourage you to watch.

As a mother myself I know what it's like to be completely wiped out and caught up in the moments of child birth that you forget a lot of the emotions.  I am so thrilled to be able to offer Birth Story Photography to families and capture these once in a lifetime experiences.

Mychaela | Senior Portraits | Plateau Valley High School

You want to know why I love high school seniors so much?!  Because of their diverse personalities!  Each one of these beautiful human beings is so unique and I really enjoy every minute that I get to share with them capturing their individuality.  I was so excited when Mychaela reached out and asked me to take her senior portraits.  She had so many neat ideas to bring to the table and I just couldn't wait to get started!  We played with guns, trucks, lipstick, fire trucks and even took a swim in the creek!

Bryant + Whitney | Mesa Colorado Wedding

Whitney and Bryant were married this Summer in Mesa, CO at Whitney's parents ranch.  It was a beautiful wedding with decorations galore!  This girl thought of everything and there were sunflowers everywhere!  These two are really a perfect couple and I was so honored to be a part of their big day!

Mckayla | Grand Junction Senior Portraits | Central High School

I had the wonderful pleasure of creating Mckayla's senior portraits a few weeks ago and I tell you, we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day!  We met at the studio and  spent about an hour walking around downtown shooting different urban scenes and then we took a short drive over to Connected lakes.  Luckily the lake isn't far from the studio because the sun was setting fast.  We played in the water of one of the lakes and Mckayla laughed and giggled as the fish swam between her legs!  Just before wrapping up the evening we made a stop at the river where I asked Mckayla to get as close to the water as possible.  What a trooper!  Her feet were caked in stinky mud after that!  Yuck!  It's all worth it though, see for yourself!

Sophie | Grand Junction Senior Portraits

Sophie is such a sweet young lady and we chose Rifle Falls as our destination to showcase her natural beauty.  We couldn't have chosen a busier day for the park and when we arrived there were people everywhere!  We managed to work around everyone and we had to wait our turn for several shots but no big deal, Sophie rocked it!  When we finished up there we headed down the hill and made a stop at Rifle Gap.  It was quite windy but we used to the wind to our advantage and walked away with some stunning images!  See for yourself!
